Hotel Helikon

The Helikon is a nice hotel situated right on the Lake Balaton with spectacular views from each balcony. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, all that is ruined by the fact that they allow 'smoking' in the coffee/eating and bar area which is usually full of thick smoke and very uncomfortable and unhealthy for people with asthma or those who do not smoke. It is such a shame that the hotel is spoiled by this fact because not everyone wishes to eat a sandwich and inhale other people's cancer causing cigaretee smoke while they eat. Not to mention the fact that it also makes your clothes and hair smell too. The smoke also permeates the reception area so there is no respite from it at all. Out of a score of ten unfortunately I can only give them 2 because of the smoking issue otherwise they would have received a resounding 10. What a shame.

	The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful and the location was superb.
	There is a very nice coffee/eating/bar area where, unfortunately, people are allowed to smoke which means it is always full of thick acrid smoke and is definitely not conducive to enjoying a sandwich with a cup of coffee.
