Tiszafured's Days of the Fish festival is an annual event dating back to 1978.
The Hungarian town hosts the Halas Napok celebration each year in July, acknowledging its link with its fishy friends in the nearby Lake Tisza and river.
During the three-day event, locals are kept amused by plenty of entertainment, including folk and modern dancing, handicraft and gift stalls, majorette presentations, concerts and discos. There is also a volleyball championship held on the beach.
But not to be outdone by the fish theme, a number of celebrations remember the poisson, with a selection of dishes on offer made of fish, as well as the renowned fish soup contest, which takes place on the second day.
And the festival culminates with a spectacular firework display.
Picturesque Tisafured is the tourist centre of Hungary's Tisza region, allowing visitors to relax in its peaceful environment, ride bicycles and indulge in the town's thermal bath.
