International musicians play out this year's Anima Mundi Festival in Pisa.
English composer Sir John Eliot Gardiner hopes to overshadow the leaning tower with his conducting.
It is the third time Sir John has conducted at the festival. He has released 250 albums and ensembles.
He performs with the English Baroque Soloists and the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique.
The festival starts on September 12th with Sir Colin Davis and London Symphony Orchestra who open with Mozart followed by English classics penned by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Edward Elgar.
On September 14th and 16th the ensemble di musica da camera perform alongside tenor James Gilchrist.
Sir John leads his Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique on September 19th.
The festival closes on October 4th with musicians from NDR Radiophilarmonie Hannover H under the direction of George Pehlivanian.
Concert tickets range from 12 (£9.52) and start at 21.00, local time.
The Tower of Pisa is the bell tower of the cathedral where these concerts take place.
