Budding sports photographers can get some tips ahead of the Beijing Olympics by paying a visit to one of Barcelona's most vibrant cultural centres.
The pioneering pictures of Avelino Pi are celebrated with an exhibition at the city's Caixa Forum until the end of July.
Photos on display include some of the most iconic sporting images of the last four decades and also chart how individual and team events have evolved over the years.
Pi shot to fame covering the 1972 Munich Olympic Games and has since snapped ones in Sarajevo, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Sydney and Athens.
His prowess through the lens even earned him a position as the Olympic Committee's official photographer during the 1980s.
Other shows at Caixa Forum this summer include the work of experimental photographer and cinematographer Hannah Collins and an exhibition of contemporary art from China running throughout July and August until September 7th.
